Crews are attempting to contain a fire that has burned about three acres of forest land in the Yacolt Burn State Forest, according to dispatch reports.

Just before 7 a.m., firefighters responded to a report of a fire smoldering in tall standing trees in eastern Clark County, about nine miles east of Brush Prairie. The site is south of Larch Corrections Center

The Department of National Resources and local firefighters from two rural fire districts are attempting to douse the flames in timber and heavy brush. By late morning, the fire was nearly under control.

Three engines, three camp crews and two aircraft from the DNR are on scene.
Authorities don't believe there is any threat to structures or people.

Further information will be released as it is made available.
