Every day I meet women who are on their own, holding down jobs, managing families, paying the bills and trying to keep their cars running. They wouldn't mind having a man in their lives, but after a few heart breaks many women aren't working too hard at finding someone. According to a new study from the Economic Opportunity Institute, median household income of families headed by a single female in Clark County was $33,821 in 2007. That's about half of the over all household income of $66,451. And here's the real bad news. According to the study, to keep a decent roof over your head, pay for childcare and other necessities requires at least $43,777 in annual income. There's a $10,000 gap between what's needed and what many women take home in pay. To find out more about the study and visit the EOI Web site Click here.
