When players showed up for media day at the Rose Garden on Monday, their left shoulders were decorated with a memorial to Kevin Duckworth that they will wear all season.

Duckworth died suddenly in late August of hypertrophic cardiomyopothy, a condition which causes sudden cardiac deaths. To honor Duckworth, all three versions of the Blazers uniform will feature a black stripe with Duckworth's number -- 00 -- stitched in white. Additionally, the black patch on warm-up uniforms and shooting shirts will read “DUCK” in red with the “00” below it in white.

To the left is a picture of the stripe, as modeled by Brandon Roy.
