mabye if their prices were lower they could have stayed in business in hazel dell. i'd rather pay for mt big screen tv at wal-mart and get it a coupla hundred dollars cheaper to boot!

Smart move for them.....people would go over to the Portland store so they didn't have to pay tax.

Maybe if people in Vancouver weren't so cheap. People were always coming in and asking for tax off. You can't keep a business open when the hazel dell area is a low income bracket community and always asking for tax off.

jane doe is completely right. I am an employee at the best buy that is now located in jantzen beach. i started back in october of 2007 in hazel dell. the reason we closed is best buy was going to open a store in jantzen beach, but they could not decide whether to keep our store open. Tax was the biggest issue, we did wayyyy to many discounts as some people know. the majority decision was to close us down and relocate our store, so NO 100 employees did not lose their job. They gave us a choice, either come with us to oregon or transfer to mill plain. they told us they did not want us to be out of a job. so i am greatly sorry for those people who lived so close and loved our store we definatley needed more of you guys. for all the loyal customers i greatly miss seeing you already. I loved working at the best buy in hazel dell and i would love you to come see us we are still the best and most exciting store you'll ever come too. i have never worked at a store that will do almost anything for a customer to keep loyal too us. remember that nothing is ever perfect and we all do the best that we can, well i think thats about it. i just wanted to put in my two sense on the whole situation and help people understand that we dont choose to move. trust me all the employees would have rather stayed in the community that we love. thank you and i really do hope to see everyone in the jantzen beach best buy and not circuit city. by the way we always price match ;)
