May 12, 1962 ~ October 31, 2008

Michael Suhama passed away on October 31, 2008 at the age of 46. Mike's loving parents and brother Shane were at his bedside.
Mike was born in San Jose, California and graduated from Oak Grove High School. He went on to a successful carrer with Hewlett-Packard. Mike was the proud father of his four children; Ryan, Heather, Steven, and Sean. Mike is survived by his parents; Jack and Liz, his sister, Margo, and brothers Scott, Shane, and Sean. Mike was a wonderful, caring, and thoughtful person who always put others before himself - he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Ryan, Heather, Steven and Sean. I am so sorry for you loss! I never met your father, but losing a parent will never be easy...I know he loved you all very much! Our thoughts and prayers are with you always!!

Ryan,Heather,Steven and Sean,i am truly sorry for your loss.I worked with your dad at Wafertech,Mike trained me when i was transfered to his bay.Mike told me many stories of his life and many stories of his kids.I last saw mike about when he came to my work to ask me if i wanted to go to work with him at comcast,Your dad was a very kind person who truly wanted to help people.I am thankful for the things he taught me at work and as well as the time we had just talking.Sometimes he came to work tired from going to work at home depot the night before but always did his job to better his family.Again i am sorry for your loss,you dad was a great guy .

Mike - I enjoyed every single minute we spent together over the many months from July 2007 when I first arrived in Portland. I'll cherish the memories we made forever, dude. You're one of the best people I've ever known or will know Mike.

At your memorial service, the pastor asked us to share a fun memory we had with you. Unfortunately, he cut the stories a little short and I didn't get to share one of our's. Here's one of my favorites from our many escapades;

We went to downtown Portland together to have a Japanese dinner at Shinju in the Pearl District... we arrived way too early and the restaurant was closed. We decided to cruise the nearby area around the Convention Center - many people were going in and out of the Convention Center, and Mike was so curious about what was going on in there (he'd never been inside before). I was still dressed from work with a shirt and tie, so I told Mike, "let's just walk in like we own the place!". We crashed the 2007 Oregon State Dental Convention. Free handouts, free food, free samples, and so many things to see. Mike laughed so hard as we walked past the various displays - he couldn't believe what we were doing.. we were just nobody's! It was so great!!!

The thing I'll miss most about Mike, and I'm certain so many others will too, is his infectious laugh. Just to see him happy, if even for just a few minutes during all he was going through made me so happy for him. He kept such a positive attitude... Mike always said he was going to "beat
this". He fought the good fight. There will be such an empty part in my life and in my heart, as there will be in so many other's lives he touched.

Mike, I'll think about you everyday. When times are a little crazy I'm going to ALWAYS hear your voice in my head saying "just slow down dude".

Thanks for eveything we shared Mike (dude)! ...I love and miss you brother!

Dearest Mike, I miss you already! I am glad we got a chance to have lunch when you were in Cali. Sorry you had to go; yet, I know you are at peace, and I miss you! I remember when you worked at the donut shop and life was simple. You taught me how to ride a motorcycle and even though I wrecked it, you never made me feel bad about that, ever. You had a great smile, and were always trying to keep me grounded and remind me to take it easy! I am happy to have known you, and thank you for being a part of my life. Remembering the good times, with love and fondness, God Bless you-You are an inspiration to many and I miss you already.

Cousin Mike, I miss you so much. I'm so happy that we were able to talk to each other about our problems. I will always cherish that. And for the promise that we made between each other i will do my best in school for you and travel to the places you wanted to go too. But I will always remember you telling me to slow down and enjoy life and I will try my best to do that. And i'm also happy that you and steven and sean where able to come down and visit i sure had a great time. I want you to know that you will always be in my heart. I sure love and miss you so much.
