Homes in the dark in Eastern Washington

Monday, January 19 | 10:15 p.m.

About 2,8000 Inland Power & Light Co. customers in Lincoln County were without power Sunday night because of icy weather conditions.

Utility spokeswoman Catherine Markson warned crews a small number of customers may not have power restored by crews until Wednesday.

A high-voltage Bonneville Power Administration transmission line serving a substation near Davenport went down, knocking out power to 800 homes. In addition, 24 power poles have broken in a recent spate of cold weather.

Markson told The Spokesman-Review, "We're working as hard as we can to get things up and going."
