Oregon plans whale watching seminar

The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department has a two-day session planned for people who want learn how to watch whales.

The training is called "Whale Watching Spoken Here." It is scheduled Feb. 14-15 at Cape Disappointment State Park near Ilwaco, Wash.

The annual training precedes the spring whale watch week, March 21-28.

Trainees pay $20 if they register in advance, $25 at the door, and they get a T-shirt and two waterproof field guides.
