The snow has been steady in Yacolt and Amboy since around 5 a.m., but hasn't yet reached 1 inch.
Locals say a light dusting of snow has covered the towns but hasn't caused any significant problems.
"Right now, we probably don't have a measureable amount," said Gordon Brooks, a paramedic with North Country EMS in Yacolt. "But the roads are covered."
Brooks estimated less than 1 inch has fallen since 5 a.m.
It's the same in Amboy. Idy Gilbert, a bartender at Nick's Bar & Grill, said it started snowing there between 5:30 a.m. and 6 a.m.
"It's still coming down but it's still only half an inch," Gilbert said at 8 a.m.
