Weather advisory in effect for Sunday

Sunday, March 8 | 9:07 a.m.

BY CRAIG BROWN, COLUMBIAN STAFF WRITER

A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 11 p.m. today for the Vancouver metro area, as cold, wet weather brings rain and possibly snow.
The National Weather Service predicts that little or no snow will accumulate on the valley floor, but brief flurries that make roads slick are possible.
Snow could accumulate in higher elevations, including Yacolt and Amboy.
Traveling was already tricky in the Columbia River Gorge this morning, with the Oregon State Police advising of numerous noninjury accidents caused by slick highways. Motorists were advised to use extreme caution.
The cold front bringing all of this cold and wet weather is expected to moderate as the work week begins.
