Snohomish County is going ahead with plans to produce biodiesel despite lower fuel prices.
It's expecting delivery soon of a 24-ton machine to crush canola seeds into oil.
Councilman Dave Somers told The Everett Herald the project is still going to be good for the county.
The goal is to support local farmers and produce enough alternative fuel to run the county's diesel fleet.
The project is being built at the old Cathcart landfill to use its methane gas for seed driers.
