Aberdeen bridge jumper had been drinking

Thursday, May 21 | 12:30 p.m.

A man who jumped from the Chehalis River Bridge in Aberdeen told officers he wasn't suicidal.

The 47-year-old Moclips man said he wanted to conquer the bridge, but it nearly killed him.

KXRO reports police saw the highly intoxicated man remove his clothes Wednesday evening and jump about 50 feet into the water. He was rescued by a Cosmopolis Fire Department boat and taken to Community Hospital.

He was arrested for disorderly conduct.
