STATE UPDATE: Local 3A softball teams fall

The local Class 3A softball teams came up short Friday in their bid for the state semifinals in Tacoma.


After going 3-0 in first round, Prairie, Columbia River and Union went 0-3 in the quarterfinal round and now face 7 p.m. elimination games tonight.


Mountain View remains in the Class 4A winner's bracket, set to play Mountlake Terrace in a 7 p.m. quarterfinal tonight.


3A quarterfinal results:

Holy Names 6, Columbia River 3

Mount Rainier 6, Prairie 2

Bainbridge 1, Union 0
