All-star games scheduled for today

Today there will be all-stars all around Clark County.

The Southwest Washington Senior All-Star Softball Showcase begins at 3 p.m. at Battle Ground High School. There will be a home run derby in between the two games.

Cost is $5 per person or $10 per family.

Baseball also has its best senior players competing today. The Curt Daniels Clark County Senior All-Star Games is at Propstra Stadium, with the first game of the doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.

Southwest Washington softball players were the best Sunday at the All-State series for seniors.

Lindsay Sasse of Union, Jessica Guy and Amanda Livingston of Mountain View, and Mai Galusha of Battle Ground were on the Southwest Washington team that beat Central Washington 4-0 and then Northwest Washington 5-4 in eight innings in the title game.

Galusa and Kelso pitcher Crystal Nyman teamed up for a triple play in one of the games.
