THE COLUMBIAN

Find out which high school athletes from Clark County ruled the Washington State Hammer Throw competition last week. ...

Jon Lawson of Prairie and Madeline Midles of Camas each won state championships in the hammer throw competition at Centralia High School. The WIAA does not sanction the hammer throw, so athletes and coaches who choose to compete in the event get together after the state meet each year.
Lawson won the boys title with a throw of 192-feet, 6-inches. Matt Lloyd of Camas was second at 182-6.
Madeline Midles won the girls title at 162-10.
