Two more Clark County baseball players were selected in Major League Baseball’s First-Year Player draft on Thursday, and it has been quite a week for one baseball family.

Former Hudson’s Bay standout and current Oregon State Beaver Greg Peavey was picked by the Houston Astros in the 32nd round.

Later, Skyview High School’s Jeff Ames was picked in the 46th round by the Philadelphia Phillies. His older brother Steven was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday.

Peavey, a sophomore, has two more years of eligibility with Oregon State if he does not choose to sign with the Astros. He was previously picked in the 24th round of the 2007 draft by the New York Yankees and did not sign.

Jeff Ames, meanwhile, has signed with Oregon State and will also have to decide on pro ball or college life.

On Tuesday, the Phillies selected Evergreen’s Kyrell Hudson in the third round.

On Wednesday, former Hudson’s Bay Eagles Tyson Van Winkle and Steven Ames were selected. Van Winkle went to the Astros in the 10th round. The Dodgers picked up Steven Ames in the 17th round.
