3 Vancouver-based firms listed among best of NW

Three Vancouver-based companies are among the region's best performing companies, according to a list released Sunday by The Seattle Times.

The Northwest's top companies included Northwest Pipe Co., No. 8; Riverview Bancorp, No. 52; and Barrett Business Services, No. 71.

Because of the economic downturn, the newspaper's usual Top 100 list included only 87 companies as the share price of many companies on last year's list has dropped below $2. Rankings were based on sales per employee, operating income, return on equity and stock price appreciation in fiscal 2008.
