Do you own a dial-gauge pressure canner? Did you know that it should be checked annually for accuracy? The WSU Cooperative Extension Food Advisor volunteers will test gauges, check sealing rings and safety valves, and answer questions about using the canner and its care and storage.
To have your gauge tested, bring $3 for each lid and the pressure canner lid with the dial gauge attached (if you own an All American canner, the gauges must be removed from the lid) to one of the following clinics:
-- 11 a.m.-noon June 27: Wilco Farmers, 209 E. Main St., Battle Ground.
-- 10 a.m.-noon June 30: Kunze Farms, 6109 N.E. 53rd St., Vancouver.
-- 10 a.m.-noon July 8: Kunze Farms.
-- 11 a.m.-noon July 11: Wilco.
-- 10 a.m.-noon July 22: Kunze Farms.
-- 11 a.m.-noon July 25: Wilco; 11 a.m. to noon: Ridgefield Hardware, 104 N. Main Ave., Ridgefield.
-- 10 a.m.-noon Aug. 4: Kunze Farms.
-- 11 a.m.-noon Aug. 8: Wilco.
-- 10 a.m.-noon Aug. 18: Kunze Farms.
-- 11 a.m.-noon Aug. 22: Wilco.
-- 11 a.m.-noon Sept. 12: Wilco.
