Kings select Jeff Pendergraph for Blazers

With the Sergio Rodriguez trade not becoming official until after Portland's 38th pick is used, Sacramento drafted Arizona State forward Jeff Pendergraph for the Blazers.

The 6-foot-9 forward set ASU records for games played (126) and started (120) and his 1,588 career points are sixth best all-time. He led the nation in field goal percentage (.660) as a senior.

Senior (2008-09): Averaged 14,5 points, shooting .660 from the field, the best mark in the nation. Was named to the Pac-10 First Team. Posted 11 double-doubles and averaged 16.1 points and 9.0 rebounds in the final 15 games. Had a career-high 31 points against Stanford. Dished out four assists against Washington State. Had three blocks against Oregon.
Junior (2007-08): Averaged 12.4 points and was named to the Pac-10's Third Team. Shot .593 from the field, third best in the conference. Helped ASU have incredible turnaround season, as it went from 10 wins to 21. Had 29 points and eight rebounds against Arizona to help the Sun Devils to their first win at Arizona since 1995. Scored 25 points against LSU. Shot 79.3 percent from the free throw line. Started all 34 games he played.
Sophomore (2006-07): Averaged 12.1 points and 9.1 rebounds. His rebounding average was the second best in school history and helped him earn Honorable Mention honors in the conference. Was second in the Pac-10in field goal percentage (.551), rebounding aver- age (9.1) and was fourth in minutes per game (35.5) in league games. Had 19 rebounds against both Oregon and Colgate.
Freshman (2005-06): Averaged 10.9 points and 6.1 rebounds to place him second and third among all conference freshmen. Was named to the Pac-10 All-Freshmen team. Averaged 13.0 points and 8.3 rebounds over final six games. Strengths: Active and efficient around the basket, with solid athleticism and intangibles. Blue-collar approach to the game. Runs the floor very well and plays with energy and toughness. Personal: Earned BA in economics in just 3.5 years.
