A most confusing article. Starting out the count of lost teachers is 4, hardly a handful and all in the high school arena. How does that translate to more children per class in kindergarden? Overloaded by 2 or 3 students? Doesn't sound like a big issue to me. Things are tough all over. And 'The district laid off more teachers than expected because fewer teachers have retired than in the past years.' just doesn't make any sense to me.
And how do they end up with 32 fewer teaching positions when only 4 teachers have been laid off? Are the other 28 just going to be kept on staff and paid?
All in all a very troublesome 'news' item. Not from the content but from the reporting.
