Hit-and-run victim in Spokane identified

A Spokane Valley pedestrian who died of hit-and-run injuries has been identified.

Spokane County sheriff's deputies say 19-year-old Ashley M. Jennings was hit by a car while walking with a 22-year-old man along a road early Friday morning. She died over the weekend at a hospital in Spokane. Her companion is being treated at a hospital for broken legs and other injuries.

Sheriff's Sgt. Dave Reagan says 19-year-old-year-old Alex C. Walker turned himself in about 45 minutes after the accident. He has been booked into jail for two counts each of vehicular assault and leaving the scene of an accident involving injury.
