Thursday

Fruit Valley Neighborhood Association, 7 p.m., Fruit Valley Community Center, 3202 Unander Ave.: Regular meeting.

Harney Heights Neighborhood Picnic, 7 p.m., St. Helens Park, 4007 E. 13th St.: Bring a picnic dinner and chairs.

Saturday

Airport Green Neighborhood, Fourth of July kids parade and neighborhood picnic, starting at 11 a.m. with the picnic following at around noon in Hearthwood Park. The parade begins at Northeast Sixth Street and 139th Avenue and winds through the neighborhood, concluding at the park.

Bennington Neighborhood, Fourth of July barbecues have been organized at several subdivisions including Quail Tree and Hannah Acres, East Hampton, English Ridge and Singletree, and Columbia Heights, which will have a parade at 11 a.m. and a barbecue afterwards.

Central Park Neighborhood, Fourth of July annual children’s parade, 1 p.m., starting at Y Street near Mill Plain Boulevard and ending at Quarnberg Park. Ice cream and games afterwards.

DuBois Park Neighborhood, Fourth of July annual park party and neighborhood parade, starting at 9:30 a.m. with coffee in the park until 11 a.m. Neighborhood parade, 11:30 a.m. to noon, starting and ending at the park. Picnic and games from noon to 2 p.m.

Felida Neighborhood, Fourth of July annual children’s parade, 11:15 a.m., starting and ending at Felida Park. After the parade, activities include games, face painting, a picnic lunch and displays including a Lewis and Clark Expedition presentation at 12:30 and 1:30 p.m.

Fisher’s Creek Neighborhood, Fourth of July bike parade and picnic, 11 a.m. starting at Fisher’s Landing Elementary School up to Fisher’s Creek Park. The picnic will feature food, drinks, games and raffle prizes.

Landover-Sharmel Neighborhood, Fourth of July block party, 5 p.m. to midnight on Village Green Drive. Bring beverages and something to share for the barbecue.

Tuesday

Fircrest Neighborhood Association, 7 p.m., Firstenburg Community Center, 700 N.E. 136th Ave.: Regular meeting.
