Fourth of July closures

MAIL: Post offices are open today, closed Saturday. Mail delivered today, but not Saturday. The postal unit inside the Shell gas station at Fisher's Landing, 16320 S.E. Cascade Park Drive, is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

GARBAGE COLLECTION: Collection of trash and recyclables remains on schedule in Vancouver and most of Clark County. Inside Camas city limits, today's trash and recyclables will be picked up Monday. West Van Materials Recovery Center, 6601 N.W. Old Lower River Road, open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. today, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Central Transfer and Recycling Center, 1103 N.E. 117th Ave., open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. today, closed Saturday.

BUSES: C-Tran and TriMet both will follow Sunday schedule July 4. Due to demand, MAX and Portland Streetcar will follow Saturday schedule July 4.

ANIMAL SHELTER: Humane Society for Southwest Washington, 2121 St. Francis Lane, open regular hours today and Saturday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today for lost-pet retrieval and animal receiving and noon to 5:30 p.m. for adoption; and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday for lost-pet retrieval and animal receiving and noon to 4:30 p.m. for adoption.

PUBLIC SCHOOLS: Closed.

COLLEGES: No classes at Clark College and Washington State University Vancouver.

GOVERNMENT: City, county, state and federal offices closed today. Water Resources Education Center, 4600 S.E. Columbia Way, closed today and Saturday.

PUBLIC LIBRARIES: Vancouver Community Library and all branches of the Fort Vancouver Regional Library District, along with the Camas Public Library, closed Saturday.

LIQUOR STORES: State-operated stores open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.

BANKS: Open today, closed Saturday.

FINANCIAL MARKETS: New York Stock Exchange, Nasdaq and other markets closed today.

PARKING: Meters in downtown Vancouver free Saturday. Meters in Portland free today and Saturday.

DRIVER LICENSING: Full-service offices, 1301 N.E. 136th Ave., Vancouver, and 9609 N.E. 117th Ave., Orchards, open today, closed Saturday. Limited-service office, 5411 E. Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver, closed today and Saturday.

VEHICLE LICENSING: Offices closed today, Saturday.

VEHICLE EMISSIONS: Test stations open today, closed Saturday.

ZOO: Oregon Zoo open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today, Saturday.

WESTFIELD VANCOUVER MALL: Open regular hours today, 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Mall opens at 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. Anchor stores might have slightly different hours.

THE COLUMBIAN: Offices open Friday, closed Saturday. Circulation customer service lines, 360-694-2312, open 4:30 a.m. to noon Saturday.
