Snohomish County deputies shoot Arlington man

Friday, July 3 | 4:45 p.m.

Two Snohomish County sheriff's deputies responding to a domestic violence call near Arlington shot an armed man.

A spokesman for the agency investigating the shooting, Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz, says a woman had called 911 about 9:45 p.m. Thursday and said she was being threatened by a man with a gun.

Deputies arriving at the home found a man on the porch with a handgun.

Goetz says he refused orders, and the two deputies fired. The wounded man was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

The deputies have been placed on leave for the investigation. One is a 38-year-old with six years with the Snohomish County sheriff's office. The other is 32 with two years with the department.
