What's open, what's closed for the holiday

MAIL: No mail delivered today; post offices closed. The postal unit inside the Shell gas station at Fisher’s Landing, 16320 S.E. Cascade Park Drive, is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

GARBAGE: West Van Materials Recovery Center, 6601 N.W. Old Lower River Road, open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today. Central Transfer and Recycling Center, 1103 N.E. 117th Ave., closed today.

BUSES: C-Tran and TriMet both will follow their Sunday schedules today except that, because of expected demand, MAX and Portland Streetcar will follow Saturday schedule today instead of Sunday schedule.

ANIMAL SHELTER: Humane Society for Southwest Washington, 2121 St. Francis Lane, open regular hours today: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for lost-pet retrieval and animal receiving, and noon to 4:30 p.m. for adoption.

PUBLIC LIBRARIES: Vancouver Community Library and all branches of the Fort Vancouver Regional Library District, along with the Camas Public Library, closed today.

LIQUOR STORES: State-operated stores open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today.

BANKS: Most closed today.

PARKING: Meters in downtown Vancouver and Portland free today.

DRIVER LICENSING:
All offices closed today.

VEHICLE EMISSIONS:
Test stations closed today.

ZOO: Oregon Zoo open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today.

WESTFIELD VANCOUVER MALL: Mall opens at regular time today, at 10 a.m., but will close an hour early, at 8 p.m. Anchor stores might have slightly different hours.

THE COLUMBIAN:
Offices closed Saturday. Circulation customer service lines, 360-694-2312, open 4:30 a.m. to noon Saturday.
