A three-vehicle accident near Woodland late Saturday resulted in one pickup being ruined after it caught fire.
None of those involved received serious injuries, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The patrol said a 1999 Dodge Caravan driven by Dennis A. Crogg, 47, of Vancouver and a 1997 Ford pickup driven by Roger B. Dill, 61, of Ariel were southbound on state Highway 503 at Milepost 51 about 11:34 p.m.
At that time, a 2003 GMC pickup driven by Lynn K. Wheeler, 63, of Ariel was northbound on the highway.
Then, Crogg’s vehicle crossed into the northbound lane colliding with Wheeler’s pickup. Wheeler’s pickup then struck Dill’s pickup, the report said.
All the vehicles came to rest on the southbound shoulder and then Wheeler’s pickup caught fire.
The road was shut down for about an hour.
Wheeler’s passengers, Tiffany J. Walsh, 20, and Ian C. Colson, 33, both of Ariel were not hurt, according to the patrol’s report. Wheeler was taken to St. John Medical Center in Longview, the report said. The hospital had no record of Wheeler as a patient Sunday night.
Crogg was treated for arm lacerations at the scene and the report said Dill as not hurt.
Crogg was cited for being over the center line and for having no insurance, according to the patrol’s report. His Caravan was totaled, the patrol said.
Dill’s pickup had some damage, the patrol said.
Alcohol was not involved, the report said.
