Ridgefield school investigation continues

It will be several weeks before the investigation of a former Ridgefield School District administrative employee is completed and likely criminal charges will be filed, officials say.

Ridgefield Police Chief Carrie Greene said analysis of district financial records, with assistance from state auditors and Vancouver-based FBI agents, reaches back several years.

"We’re not even close" to a resolution, Greene said on Wednesday. It appears a substantial sum of money was involved. "It’s going to take a bit longer. We want to try and track down everything that we can," she said.

The district employee resigned May 13 after she was confronted with evidence of "payroll record discrepancies," said Superintendent Art Edgerly in a written statement.

The employee has not been named by police, in light of the ongoing investigation, Greene said.
