This is one half of Anthony D. Wilkerson’s car after it crashed early Friday morning … (Washington State Patrol)
… and this is the other. Wilkerson was treated for injuries and released before noon. (Washington State Patrol)
If 21-year-old Anthony D. Wilkerson was a cat, he'd likely have used up 8 of his lives in a crash that broke his car in half early Friday morning.
About 4:45 a.m., state troopers say, Wilkerson was driving a 2004 Subaru south on Interstate 205 at high speed when he took the exit to state Highway 500 westbound.
He failed to negotiate the curve and the Subaru left the roadway southbound, flipped end over end several times, hit a light pole and split in half, according to a bulletin from the Washington State Patrol.
The two halves of the car rolled across the onramp and stopped in the grass.
Wilkerson suffered facial bruises and neck pain, the bulletin said.
He was treated at Southwest Washington Medical Center and released later Friday morning, a hospital employee said.
The crash was caused by driving too fast, and Wilkerson was to be ticketed for alleged DUI, the bulletin said.
