The Port of Camas-Washougal is headed toward dispute arbitration with developers of the proposed RiverWalk project who are asking the port to pay $19.5 million or resume work on joint development of 65 waterfront acres.

The money represents “losses it will incur if the port fails to satisfy its duties,” said RiverWalk on the Columbia LLC.

Port attorney Shawn MacPherson said the contract expired in November.

“RiverWalk failed to meet several contingencies,” he said. The case is to be heard by JAMS, a national dispute resolution group.
