Washougal-based Air Speed Internet has acquired the assets of Battle Ground-based BG Wireless, both companies said Tuesday.

Tom Cross, who owned BG Wireless, will continue to operate his other business, Battle Ground Computers. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition expands Air Speed’s north Clark County wireless Internet reach and adds about 100 customers to a client base of about 1,000.

Air Speed plans to expand its coverage in north county and to upgrade existing technology, said Greg Warta, president.

Air Speed offers wireless and wired Internet connections in Portland, Vancouver, Washougal, Ridgefield, and rural areas of the county.
