This update stars Dougray Scott (Desperate Housewives as the good doctor whose experiments conjure an evil alter ego with a taste for leather pants…and murder! Scott does what he can he's stunned and remorseful as Jekyll, swaggery as Hyde. Less riveting are the repeated transformation scenes, in which he lurches and vomits (Limit to three, please.) The film devolves into a dull yet baffling courtroom drama, and you may soon identify with Jekyll, begging for sweet release. C- Gillian Flynn |
