Iconic Irish fiddler Kevin Burke and rebel violinist extraordinaire, Gilles Apap, join some of Portland's top musicians for this exciting program. Also performing are violinist Gregory Ewer, cellist Justin Kagan, violist Anna Schaum, Portland Youth Philharmonic Concertmaster Michael Siess and local composer/guitarist Cal Scott. The program explores ways in which the violin has been used by cultures all over the world and includes traditional Irish music, bluegrass, gypsy, swin, and classical works by Gyorgy Ligeti, J.S Bach and Pablo de Sarasate. * Tickets: $5 for children 12 and under, $20 students/seniors and $25 www.boxofficetickets.com.
