The Heart & Stroke Walk is a nationwide campaign to get Americans walking to reduce their risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke and to inspire them to take charge of their health. The Greater Portland Heart & Stroke Walk reaches more than 4,000 participants, 60 companies, key local business leaders and more than 125 community teams. The walk promotes physical activity and heart-healthy living while raising critical funds to fight the No. 1 and No. 3 killers in America, heart disease and stroke.
