Eleven farms in Clark County will be open to the public, and tour participants can learn about life on the farms and see the bounty of local agriculture.
Three new farms will join the tour this year, including Red Brick Farm, Serendipity Alpaca Ranch, and Peculiar Ambitions Educational Farm. The following farms participated in 2016 and will be open for tours: Botany Bay Farms, Half Moon Farm, Bi-Zi Farms, Yacolt Mountain Farm, Coyote Ridge Ranch, Compass Rose Alpacas, White Oak Alpacas and Greene Jungle Farm.
Participants can meet the farmers, pick and purchase flowers and produce, see alpacas, draft horses, chickens and lambs, tour orchards and gardens, and take a hayride. There will be education demonstrations and activities. Farm descriptions with maps and a schedule of events are at http://extension.wsu.edu/clark/event/harvest-celebration/or at the WSU Extension office, 1919 N.E. 78th St., Vancouver.
