Somebody please tell vanwa the difference between a state income tax and a sales tax. He didn’t even understand what I was saying.
As far as my “sugar shack” is concerned….vanwa, I noticed a long time ago that most of your insults are frequently driven by something akin to envy. You should really work on that.

Anybody supporting this tax scam truly needs to have their heads examined. I smell a recession ahead. Just like the last time.

Vanwa, if you can’t figure out how I can lose on state tax, well…
    Where do we live??

I am not a librarian, or libraian, as you call it. I won’t get a pension either as I haven’t worked there for 30 years or however long it takes. Pensions at the state system went out a long time ago. Only those who started a few decades ago get them. Keep up!

I did, however, manage to manage my money and so I can still eat well upon retirement.

I pay a terrible high percent of taxes and will lose on state/ property/mortgage deductions. For starters.

As far as how I felt when we got the ACA? I thought this country was finally on its way to join the rest of the civilized world.
I forgot that the GOP wants to drag us back down.

Vanwa, I don’t really want to tell you to maybe just once smoke a little legal weed. But it might improve your writing skills. Still trying to figure out what exactly you were trying to say.

And why are you so obsessed with Hilary? The twitler in the WH is in charge, not her. Let’s focus on him and the many moronic things he does that put us all in danger.

And by the way: I use the deductions, Vanwa. Do you? Not the standard one, the itemized ones. And yea, this scam will definitely impact me negatively and I will be paying more taxes. And no, I am not a millionaire. It’s another attempt at Ronnie’s trickle down theory – and we all know how that ended.

Here is what I think: the GOP wants to cram through this total screw-over of us all and when that is done, they will cut twitler lose. He served his purpose.

Yea JJ, I heard that also a few times now with regard to Moore but the “go to hell” was substituted with a four letter word. LOL.

I am thrilled about the AL vote – but less thrilled that we still have so many voters (as close as this one was) that still throw their support behind a deeply flawed dude for the simple reason of him being such an “good, godly man”. Right. What type of religion do they support there? He is a pervert. AND he flaunts his disregard for the constitution and the laws of the land. The dude needs to go. I do feel sorry for the horse though.

What is especially sweet is the fact that Selma seemed to have pushed it over. Karma, baby. Looking at the numbers, it looks the old whities voted for Moore. Bodes badly for the GOP – not so many old whities left in a few years, with more and more younger folks constituting the voting block. And younger folks do not want to live in Jim Crow times, with the boys having all the say and the women in the kitchen. Those times are over for good. Even the backward South is changing.

Apologies to a few of our resident older male whities here, Drift, Hawk, Nails. I excempt you from the above statements.

Anybody saw Inslee’s statements today? About net neutrality and about Trump being unstable?
Anybody saw the USA Today editorial about Trump being unfit to clean toilets in the Obama library? Sweet.

My sense is once the GOP has pushed through their scam of tax reform, they will have gotten what they wanted – and then they leave twitler in the dust. He served his purpose as a front for their effort to screw over everybody but the rich.

Jj, I think Vanwa just hated Obama and the rest follows. What I want to know from his post, what does a bazaar have to do with Bernie?
Oh wait, that is just Vanwa’s lack of basic English skills.

So much has been written about trumpie fans and their lack of intelligence and thinking skills, that we might just attribute same to our dear fellow dweller. Otherwise, I simply can’t explain the idiocy.

    Long live democracy!

Majority in both houses, and that thing in the WH and they are still too stupid to govern. Supporting a pedophile for senator. A tax plan with handwritten scribbles in the side bar. Screwing the middle class. Trying to push the world into war by the thing in the WH. And they can’t find their voice.
And there are still people like VanWa who want to blame Obama and support those traitors.

Yes Vanwa, therexdure is. Everywhere, all sides. Wrong every single time. As a woman, I experienced it myself. As a mother of a female, inappropriate contact would be dealt with swiftly and gave you singing soprano. It’s disgusting. No matter who does it. Glad so many came forward, glad do many are believed. So let’s get cracking on all the accusations against Herr Twitler.
Other than that, I am back from DC where I promptly got sick with a nasty virus. Spent half my conference in hotel bed. Watched the Virginia races there as they truly dominated the news. Glad they worked out so well.
Hoping someone chimes in here before turkey day.
Oh yea, taxes. Let’s face it, a giveaway to those who don’t need it, the rest get screwed.

Hey JJ, same for me. All I can add to Hawk’s post: how does it feel to vote for a sex predator? After all, that’s what that ogre is.

I was hoping for mild winter after last year’s way too cold and snowy one. Seems I will be disappointed. In DC since last night to see the kiddo and partake of a conference. Same grey rainy weather here.

    You are not alone, Drift.

I also am getting the emails from the C, on three separate email accounts no less. Is it spam? Phish? Junk? Notice that we do not have to do capcha here any longer?

JJ – sorry about all the medical stuff with you and spouse. Hope he is better. I had a date with oral surgeon this week, opted for full sedation and happy pill. Who needs to be awake for that stuff? On road to recovery, it’s good when the pain goes away. I managed to get infection in the tooth and so we moved up the day of surgery. No fun for sure. But it’s done.

I am already missing the nice, crispy, sunny days. Did not get to finish cleanup in the yard. We need a few more days for that. I am already longing for Spring. Last winter was too much for me. And it seems we might get the same this year….

As for national news and our resident moron in chief. Seems to get worse by the day. When will the Republicans find their spine and put an end to this obviously mentally ill dude and retire him? We got the amendment for it…but it would mean to put country and humanity before party. Not something they are known for.

Yep, leave it to McCain to say the right thing. Honestly, let us just tweak the ACA. There has to be a way to do this. I just do not understand the GOP in congress. Screaming about repeal for seven years, and unable to come up with anything that can be stomached by people who have some humanity left. Meaning they have no idea. This latest bill is just an atrocity. There got to be a way that people can see a doctor without going broke, a way for people to access healthcare and still eat. If the rest of the civilized world can, why not us? And why stick it to the poor and the old? Now that I am old(er), I react badly to this.

And Vanwa, I do not think we have forgotten Houston. We have too many of those storms right now, it is overwhelming. Florida, Puerto Rico, the islands, it just never ends these days. I feel so bad for all these people. Everywhere.

2017, not a good year. Idiot in WH, idiot in Russia, idiot in NK, idiot in Turkey, idiot in Philippines. Hurricanes, quakes, fires. A good thing I do not believe in the supernatural as we already got the morons saying it is divine retribution. That’s what happens when you flunk science.

No idea how the German election will play. Seems the money is on Angela, but these days? Who knows what people think and do.

I need to find me a quiet spot somewhere in the world to retire to. Any suggestions?
In the meantime, all enjoy the nice fall weather that we will be having for a few days.

    Hey guys,
after all the scamming and the basement being down and then Drift stating they might shut us down soon anyway, I stayed away a bit. Are they really thinking of shutting this? I guess with only 4-5 people active at uneven times, it might make sense. But they do tend to keep it shut away anyway. Guess they rather not have it. Guess we might all need to drift over to Drift’s blog if he has us.

What can I say to current events? Storms and hurricanes, quakes, and Trump. Bad out there. Trump is an embarrassment. Speaking at UN he sounded…demented. He is unfit for just abotu everything. The world might actually believe we follow him. His base is shrinking. If this newest atrocity of health care repeal goes through, so many people will be screwed. Not even VanWa can like this one. Couple it for the tax redo with everything going to the fat cats and us getting maybe 20 bucks off, the populace is doomed. I wish people were actually informed.

    Time to go home….

Drift, Paolini’s books are for teens although I enjoyed them also. What type of books besides horror do you like, jj? I am an avid reader myself.
You might like Rosalind Miles. Historical fiction and very good. So is Philippa Gregory who wrote all those books about the War of the Roses. Amazing writing.
    I do sci-fi/fantasy a lot.

For some unknown reason, I planted different hot peppers. Don’t know some of them but man, are they hot. I ain’t eating them. Harvest very good so far. My one cucumber plant wants to set a record, green beans were plentiful. Tomatoes all coming in. Yum yum
