Burton and Busch: no hard feelings after run-in

LONG POND, Pa. (AP) — NASCAR driver Jeff Burton says he doesn’t plan to start an ongoing feud with Kyle Busch and that he’s already over their run-in during last week’s race at Charlotte.

Burton said Friday he’s moved on after Busch’s late error sent Burton tumbling to a 25th-place finish in the season’s longest race. Burton confronted Busch on pit road after Busch’s right front fender sliced Burton’s left rear tire.

It was a surprising public outburst from one of the series’ most levelheaded drivers.

The veteran says he might have stepped over the line but doesn’t regret it. Burton says he respects the way Busch reacted and has no plans to race him any differently this week at Pocono.

Busch took responsibility for clipping Burton’s car and didn’t realize he had done it until well after the race.
