About Live Well
The Columbian has a new focus on health this year. With all the changes happening in health care, including new legislation, the rising cost of health care, a spike in obesity and chronic disease and an aging population, our research shows that Clark County residents want to know what's going on, how it affects them and how they can live well and be healthy in this community.
To address this need we recently hired a new health reporter to cover Clark County. We also know that news alone won’t cut it. We want to help people find solutions to their health issues. That’s why Live Well is also a community resource for local health information that includes expert interviews, health-related events, a database of health organizations and more. We aim to connect the dots between local health and fitness services and the needs of the community.
We rely on help from our partners, who contribute content to the site. And from our community advisory board, which has guided development of the site and provided valuable feedback on the topics we cover that are of most importance to the larger health and fitness community in Clark County and Southwest Washington.
We welcome new contributors and hope to see your comments, questions and concerns on stories, our Twitter feed and Facebook page.
Health begins here.
