Deputies in Clackamas County, Ore., are looking to talk to a Samaritan who gave a crime victim a ride to the Battle Ground Chevron station on Nov. 14.

The deputies need to talk to a woman who drove a dark, older sport-utility vehicle as they continue their criminal investigation into a kidnapping and attempted murder case. The Samaritan is described as a white woman, 25 to 30 years old, with light brown hair.

On the morning of Nov. 14, the Samaritan gave a ride to Yesenia Vehar-Fombona of Beaverton, Ore. The victim had been at work at a Mexican restaurant in Milwaukie, Ore., when she allegedly was accosted by an estranged boyfriend in the parking lot. She drove away, but was allegedly pursued by the suspect, who is accused of shooting at her car. After she stopped, he reportedly forced her into his car and drove her to an abandoned gravel pit near Battle Ground, where she eventually escaped after he fell asleep.

She was picked up by the Samaritan and taken to the Chevron, where police were called. The suspect was later arrested.

Anyone with information should call Clackamas County detectives at 503-723-4949 or text CRIMES, with the keyword CCSO as the first word in the message.

Man reports being robbed at gunpoint

Sheriff’s deputies early Tuesday were investigating an alleged armed robbery that occurred near Northeast 137th Avenue and 76th Street in Orchards.

Shortly before midnight Monday, a man called 911 from a convenience store along Fourth Plain Road, said Sgt. Shane Gardner with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

The alleged robbery victim said an acquaintance had given him an expensive cell phone to sell. He said he couldn’t sell it, so he gave it to his brother to return to the owner.

The victim said the phone wasn’t returned. He told officers a suspect tracked him down at his home in Orchards, pulled a gun and robbed him of his own cell phone and his car, a dark-blue 1998 Audi, Gardner said.

The alleged robber and a possible accomplice drove away in the Audi and the car they arrived in, Gardner said.

Deputies were looking for the Audi and the suspect, for whom a felony warrant had been issued in a previous case, Gardner said.
