The Marshall Youth Leadership Award selection committee, on behalf of the Fort Vancouver National Trust, is seeking nominations for the General George C. Marshall Youth Leadership Award presented by the 40 et 8, Voiture 99.

Established in 2000, the award will be presented to an 11th- or 12th-grade Clark County student who demonstrates leadership, takes a stand for the rights of others, serves as a role model, shows initiative and motivates others to become involved.

Nomination forms can be picked up at the Fort Vancouver Celebrate Freedom office (General O.O. Howard House, 750 Anderson St.), downloaded from www.fortvan.org or by calling 360-992-1800.

The submission deadline is 5 p.m. Feb. 11. The recipient will be announced March 5.

The award includes a $2,500 college scholarship, a $500 paid summer internship in the Trust’s Celebrate Freedom office and other opportunities.

Nominees must live in Clark County and be enrolled in high school (or home schooled) at the 11th- or 12th-grade level. Selection is based on the nominee’s activities and projects demonstrating the values Gen. Marshall represented as one of America’s leading citizens and soldiers.
