Vancouver police are asking for help locating two suspects involved in nearly $2,500 of gas theft from two victims.

The victims’ credit cards were used to buy gas from multiple fueling locations operated by Vancouver Oil Co.

Surveillance video from a Commercial Fueling Network site where truckers can fill up 24 hours a day suggests there are two suspects, police said.

A woman contacted Vancouver Oil after receiving her credit card statement to report there were unauthorized purchases made on her account. A second person called and detailed similar, unauthorized transactions.

The same suspects filled their trucks in the Seattle area using the stolen accounts.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information about these thefts. Call 503-823-HELP (4357) or leave a tip online at www.crimestoppersoforegon.com.

Fitness club theft

Vancouver police are hoping someone will recognize a security video image of a man who allegedly made purchases with a credit card that had been stolen from a 24-Hour Fitness club in Orchards.

On the afternoon of Dec. 3, a member told police someone stole a wallet from a locker at the club at 13019 N.E. Fourth Plain Road. The owner had locked his locker, but returned to find the lock and wallet missing.

The wallet contained a credit card and the owner’s personal information and membership card, according to a bulletin from the Vancouver Police Department.

The credit card company later reported that someone used the card at four businesses within 30 minutes after it was stolen.

Someone also used the stolen membership card to visit other 24-Hour Fitness locations. Police said it wasn’t known whether anything was stolen at the other shops, but are advising members to take precautions to protect their belongings.

Those with information about the theft are asked to call Officer Frances at 360-487-7400, ext. 3103.

Four still in hospital

Four Vancouver residents remained in a Portland hospital Monday night with injuries suffered in a Friday traffic accident on Highway 26 near Boring, Ore.

Terry Bradbury, 43, was listed in serious condition at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center on Monday night; Charles Bradbury, 14, was in fair condition; and Ashlee Bradbury, 15, remained in critical condition.

Another passenger in the pickup, Dawn Nicole Misener, 17, of Sandy, Ore., was listed in good condition at Emanuel.

The Oregon State Police said Terry Bradbury was driving a Chevrolet S10 pickup about 5:35 p.m. Friday when his vehicle collided with a 2008 Toyota Prius driven by Anthony Petereit, 53, of Boring.

Petereit died at the scene. His car was eastbound in the westbound lanes when the collision occurred.

According to a police news release, Petereit had some health problems, including diabetes, and may have blacked out while driving home from work. His Toyota crossed a grassy median and into the oncoming lanes, where it struck Terry Bradbury’s pickup.
