A contribution account, named the Terry Bradbury Relief Fund, has been opened at Lacamas Community Credit Union, said Curtis Ellis, a friend of the family.
Donations can be mailed to the credit union at P.O. Box 1108, Camas WA 98607.
Contributions also can be brought to the Lacamas branches at 236 N.E. Fourth Ave., Camas; 403 N.E. Fifth Avenue, Camas; 19200 S.E. 31st St., Camas; 604 E St., Washougal; 15705 N.E. Fourth Plain Road, east of Orchards; 615-A Chkalov Drive, Cascade Park; and 147 S.W. First St. in Stevenson.
The Bradbury family, including two Heritage High School students, had been headed to their home in Orchards on Friday when a driver swerved across a median and collided head on with their pickup near Boring, Ore., and shattered their lives.
Ashlee Bradbury, 15, remained in critical condition at Portland’s Legacy Emanuel Medical Center on Tuesday night, a nursing supervisor said.
Ashlee is a sophomore who swims for Heritage and plays lacrosse. She suffered abdominal injuries, a lacerated liver and broken vertebrae, said a close friend of the family, Curtis Ellis of Orchards.
Ashlee underwent five hours of surgery Tuesday, Ellis said.
Chaz Bradbury, 14, a freshman and cheerleader at Heritage, was released from Emanuel Tuesday.
He suffered two broken legs and a broken arm, Ellis said.
Their father, Terry Bradbury, 43, remained in serious condition at Emanuel on Tuesday night.
A friend of Ashlee’s, 17-year-old Dawn Nicole Misener of Sandy, Ore., who was riding in their pickup, also was hurt and has been released from Emanuel.
About 5:35 p.m. Friday, Terry Bradbury had been driving west on Highway 26 near Boring, shortly after picking up Misener. The family, in their Chevrolet S-10 four-door pickup, was returning home.
Misener and Ashlee planned a sleep over at the Bradbury home. Chaz planned to go to Heritage to prepare for an upcoming cheering competition, Ellis said.
The driver of a 2008 Toyota Prius, Anthony Petereit, 53, of Boring, was found dead at the scene of the crash.
Petereit was diabetic and may have suffered a medical problem before his Toyota crossed a grassy median and into the oncoming lanes. It then crashed head on into Terry Bradbury’s pickup, according to a bulletin from the Oregon State Police.
Ellis, the family friend, said Terry Bradbury recently had his hours as a warehouseman reduced to part time.
His wife and the children’s mother, Belinda Bradbury, had stayed home and wasn’t in the crash. She works as a playground supervisor at Orchards Elementary School, Ellis said.
The family now lives in an upstairs apartment, but will need to find a one-level home because of their injuries, Ellis said.
