A robber held a large hunting knife to a convenience store clerk’s throat in Vancouver’s McLoughlin Heights on Wednesday night and escaped with some cash.

The man walked into the B&B Feed and Fuel store at 8411 E. Mill Plain Blvd., at Lieser Road, shortly before 7:45 p.m. He menaced the clerk with the knife and demanded money from the cash register, said Sgt. Troy Price with the Vancouver Police Department.

Once given the cash, the robber fled. No getaway vehicle was reported. The clerk didn’t call 911 immediately, Price said.

Officers set a K-9 team on the robber’s trail but he escaped.

The robber was described as being in his late 20s or early 30s. He wore a navy blue or black sweatshirt and blue jeans. He had facial hair and spoke with a slight Hispanic accent.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
