MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — A judge has determined a northern Idaho man accused of killing his pregnant wife and then setting the home on fire will be held on a $200,000 bail.

Second District Judge Jeff Brudie set bail for Silas Parks on Thursday, following a decision by Latah County prosecutors last month to not seek the death penalty in the case.

Parks is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree arson in connection with the June 24 death of his pregnant wife, 28-year-old Sarah J. Parks.

He has pleaded not guilty.

Latah County Prosecutor Bill Thompson has said he will not seek the death penalty because the evidence doesn’t meet the necessary requirements.
