Chronis’ Restaurant in downtown Vancouver, long the site of a famously free Thanksgiving meal, has added a free Christmas meal this year.
From 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. today, all are welcome to come in and enjoy food and camaraderie. Ham is the main course, along with vegetables, potatoes and gravy, dinner rolls, pie and non-alcoholic beverages.
Restaurateur Chuck Chronis said he added the Christmas day meal because of the tough economic times and in honor of deceased friends who always helped him put on his annual Thanksgiving meal: Jim Larson, “Big Ray” Alvarado and Richie “Dino” Dyer.
Chronis’ Restaurant is at 819 Main St.
