COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho (AP) — Police in northern Idaho say two Moses Lake, Wash., men in their early 20s were shot in Coeur d’Alene early Sunday morning and that a third man from Coeur d’Alene has been taken into custody.

Police say bystanders wrestled the 25-year-old gunman to the ground and held him until police arrived.

The Spokesman-Review identified the man taken into custody as Adam M. Johnson.

Police have not released the names of the men who were shot at about 12:44 a.m. Police say the two men argued with Johnson at a bar, and encountered him a short time later after leaving the bar and while walking with a group of people.

Police say Johnson fired into the group, hitting one man in the knee and the other in the abdomen. Police say they were taken to the Kootenai Medical Center. The center declined to release any information.

Police say Johnson was also taken to the center with injuries sustained to his head while being detained. He was booked into Kootenai County Jail at 8:20 a.m. Sunday on suspicion of attempted murder.
