SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Officials say an intoxicated passenger caused a disturbance aboard a Salt Lake City-bound jetliner and was detained by police upon landing.

Transportation Security Administration spokesman Duane Baird says three airport officers met Delta flight 1268 from Seattle on reaching Salt Lake City International Airport about 8:30 p.m. Sunday and took the man into custody.

Airport Director of Operations Randall Berg says the disturbance involved the man knocking on the pilots’ cabin door, but he didn’t have other details.

He says the man, who wasn’t identified, was being held for questioning.

Delta Airlines spokeswoman Susan Elliot described the man as being intoxicated but had no further information on the disruption.

She says the flight landed safely and there were no problems among the 164 passengers and crew members aboard.
