3 charged with sex trafficking in Eugene area

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Two women and a man from the Eugene area have been indicted in federal court on charges of sexual trafficking of minors.

An indictment alleges the three rented hotel rooms so the girls could engage in sex for money, with the proceeds given to the defendants. The defendants are also accused of taking photographs of underage girls and posting them on online advertising services.

Acting U.S. Attorney Kent Robinson said in a statement that Sharlise Duckworth pleaded not guilty Wednesday before a judge in Portland. Her trial is scheduled for March 2.

Also indicted were 26-year-old Stanley Spriggs Jr. and 27-year-old Hollie Robin Spriggs. Hollie Spriggs is due to appear in federal court Jan. 20. Stanley Spriggs is serving a prison sentence for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and will be arraigned later,
