What’s open and what’s closed on Veterans Day:

MAIL: No home delivery Wednesday, except for Express mail.

POST OFFICES: Most closed. The postal unit inside the Shell gas station at Fisher’s Landing, 16320 S.E. Cascade Park Drive, is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

GARBAGE: Collection of trash and recyclables remains on schedule Wednesday in Vancouver and most of Clark County. Inside Camas city limits, Wednesday’s trash and recyclables will be picked up Thursday. Transfer stations open Wednesday.

PUBLIC SCHOOLS: No classes.

COLLEGES: No classes Wednesday at Clark College and Washington State University Vancouver.

GOVERNMENT: City, county, state and federal offices closed Wednesday.

LIBRARIES: All Fort Vancouver Regional Library branches open Wednesday. Camas Public Library closed Wednesday.

BUSES: C-Tran and TriMet will follow regular schedules Wednesday.

DRIVER LICENSING: All offices closed Wednesday.

VEHICLE LICENSING: Auto licensing offices closed Wednesday.

VEHICLE EMISSIONS: Test stations closed Wednesday.

PARKING: Meters in downtown Vancouver free Wednesday.

LIQUOR STORES: Most state-run stores open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

BANKS: Most closed; branches in supermarkets may be open.

FINANCIAL MARKETS: New York Stock Exchange, Nasdaq and other markets open Wednesday.

ANIMAL SHELTER: Humane Society for Southwest Washington, 1100 N.E. 192nd Ave., open regular hours Wednesday: noon to 5:30 p.m. for pet adoptions and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for receiving and lost-pet retrieval.

OREGON ZOO: Open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday.

WESTFIELD VANCOUVER MALL: Open 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

FEDERAL RECREATION SITES: Day-use fees are waived at federal recreation sites in Washington and Oregon on Wednesday. The sites include picnic areas, boat launches, trailheads and visitor centers.

THE COLUMBIAN: Circulation lines, 360-694-2312, open 4:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday. Columbian offices open regular hours.
