A Vancouver man has been arrested on suspicion of four counts of conspiracy to commit murder for allegedly plotting to kill several people whom he says assaulted him.

Arrested Saturday evening by Skamania County sheriff’s deputies was Michael G. Fisher, 39. He was taken into custody in the Home Valley area of Skamania County, according to a Skamania County Sheriff’s Office bulletin.

The incident started Nov. 10 when Fisher called sheriff’s deputies to report that he’d been assaulted by several people while he was hunting north of Carson. Deputies started an investigation, which is still ongoing, according to the press bulletin.

Saturday, Fisher’s wife called deputies to say her husband had left with two weapons, allegedly planning to confront the people who assaulted him. He allegedly told her he didn’t believe sheriff’s deputies were going to do anything, so he was taking matters into his hands.

Fisher’s wife provided a vehicle description, and deputies found him in his car in the Home Valley area. He allegedly had two loaded rifles and a list of names of his attackers, the bulletin said.

Skamania County Undersheriff Dave Cox would not release more details about the alleged assault, citing the active investigation.

Fisher made his first court appearance Monday afternoon.
