An actor dodges a car on West Eighth Street in downtown Vancouver, top, while filming a scene from the series “Leverage” on Wednesday. The episode, the third of the upcoming season, is called “The Double-Blind Job,” where the con-artist team infiltrates the world of big pharmaceuticals to take down a corrupt CEO before he can release a drug that will kill thousands. It will air this summer on TNT.

The crew shot scenes Monday in the former Columbian building before hitting other downtown locations Wednesday, including on the sidewalk in front of Tiger’s Garden restaurant on West Eighth, right. “Leverage” filmed another episode in the newspaper’s former offices on West Sixth Street in June and chose to return this year because of the convenience it offers, Locations Manager Donald Baldwin said in an e-mail this week.

The former Columbian building has “four vacant floors of stylish modern space with a wonderful lobby in an urban environment,” Baldwin said. “We were also able to find locations for several shorter scenes nearby, maximizing our stay in Vancouver and limiting the number of times we have to move the company. The owners of the Columbian and the city of Vancouver have been very accommodating and have made our shoot very easy so far.”
