Battle Ground police arrested four teenage boys at Fairgrounds Park Friday afternoon for allegedly possessing marijuana. Two of the boys also face felony charges in connection with vandalism at the park bathrooms earlier this week.

The teens, ages 14 to 17, are all Battle Ground residents. Police did not release their names.

Police responded to reports of malicious mischief at Fairgrounds Park, which houses the community skate park, on Tuesday. The interior of the public bathroom had been spray-painted, causing more than $1,000 worth of damage, according to police.

The act was captured on surveillance cameras and police worked to identify the suspects.

On Friday, a city public works employee recognized one of the teens walking into the public bathroom at the park, at Fairgrounds Avenue and East Main Street, with three others. The employee called police, who located the group at about 12:30 p.m., Sgt. Jason Perdue said.

The teens allegedly told police they went into the bathroom to use drugs, and two of the teens also admitted to vandalizing the bathroom earlier in the week, according to police.

Three of the juveniles arrested Friday were booked in the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center in Vancouver. Two of the boys could face felony charges of second-degree malicious mischief. The fourth boy was released to his parents and will be charged with possession of marijuana, police said.

Police are also looking for another teen boy who was identified as a suspect in the vandalism of the public bathroom.
